Kenneth “Pete” Ebel (b. 1931) passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Betty Ebel (d. 2016); loving father of Mark (Michele) of London, and Neal (Joan) of Stratford. Treasured grandfather of Lisa Phillips, Ryan Mullin, Nicole Ebel, Matthew Ebel and Natalie Ebel. Much-loved great-grandfather of Carter, Chloe, Raelynn and Joelle. As a life-long resident of Stratford, Pete spent his entire career at Kroehler Furniture, starting at age 14 and working there until the factory closed its doors. A talented young athlete, Pete played competitive men’s fastball for many years, and went on to enjoy his decades-long role as a plate umpire in ball games throughout Southwestern Ontario. He was a proud member of the Masons (St. James Lodge #73 in St. Mary’s ON) and of the Mocha Shriners Road Runner Unit. Pete’s unfailing kindness and his genuine love of life will forever stand as a beautiful example to all who knew him. Cremation has taken place, and a private Celebration of Life will follow. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Shriners Children’s Hospital (Montreal) through the W.G.
