Ted Jeffrey, age 91, of Stratford passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, September 8, 2022.  Ted’s heart stopped beating the same day as the Queen’s.

He leaves his wife of 67 years, Shirley, his daughter Lee and sons Steven, Robert and Simon, his son’s partners Tina, Rob and Debbie.  Ted was proud grandfather of Heather, Tim and Quinn, and great-grandfather of Presley and Lochlan.

Ted was born in London, England, eldest son of George and Margaret Jeffrey.  He was pre-deceased by his brothers Peter and Michael.  Ted married Shirley Bowles in 1955 and they came to Canada in 1956. Ted’s training in his National Service with the RAF gave him the qualifications to be employed as a technician on the AVRO Arrow.  When the Arrow “crashed”, Ted returned to his other talent – photography.  He worked with the T. Eaton Company for 20 years taking pictures for the flyers and daily newspaper ads – shots of everything from silverware to snow shovels, swimsuits to snowsuits.  He also taught continuing education classes at Sheridan College for over 25 years.  He inspired his students of all ages to “take better pictures”.  In 1993, Ted and Shirley moved to Stratford and opened Albert Square B&B, playing host to Stratford’s charming visitors.  Ted said that these were the happiest years of his life.

Friends and family may gather at St. James Anglican Church, 41 Mornington Street, Stratford on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 for visitation from 1 pm until the time of service at 2pm. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall following the interment in Gods Holy Acre Cemetery.
